I got to thinking… I was going to do another meme and bombard you with most of the things you likely already knew about me… so I thought about it and decided I would show you the vehicles I’ve had since I turned 16. I’m kind of a car dork – not like crazy weird, but.. well, yeah… so, this is just fun for me!
Enjoy!
I had this car from the day I turned 16 until about a month before I graduated from high school. It was my parents car, and it had 216,000 miles on it and was on it’s second or third transmission and lots of things were starting to go wrong, and I was eyeing up another car… so we sold it! I did not want to part with it, and I seriously still miss it big time… it was by far my favorite, ever. And, it was fast. It wasn’t your ordinary grocery getter Taurus…

1993 Ford Taurus SHO – 2nd Generation

Then I spotted my “dream car” at the local dealership and I absolutely HAD to have it! I had this car from age 18/May 2004 until December 20th, 2006…which would have made me 20… eventually I got rid of it because I put on a lot of miles from driving back and fourth to see Chris, and the transmission was about to go out… sooooo, yeah! I didn’t want to foot that bill! But, here it is… and I loved this car too, sometimes I still wish I had it! I added all the red graphics to it… and I used to have tons of new pictures
2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT Coupe

…side note here, in the fall 2006 before my next car below, I traded my Grand Am in on a 2003 Jetta that looked like the one below – I had always wanted a VW and this Jetta was awesome. I bought it, drove it home – it started to chug – I brought it back, they said it was a warranty thing, I picked it up, drove it home and it was beep beep beeeeeeping and I didn’t think much of it as it was faint, and I wasn’t driving all the way back to the dealer that night, so I got up in the morning and thankfully I had backed up to where I was parked and sure enough that next morning the car wouldn’t start… so, I didn’t even have that car for 24 hours of me driving it and I was already fed up- so I called my joke of a sales guy and he couldn’t believe it was me again – it’s like he knew I’d be calling…they sent a tow truck out, and the way we went. I got there and demanded I got my Grand Am back, and they tried talking me in to keeping the Jetta and they promised they would fix it right this time and I said no thanks just give me my old car back and they did and that was that. I still wish I would have done something different – the car WAS awesome, and what I had always wanted but then I found my Dodge Stratus below that was 2 years newer and had 10,000 less miles and cheaper and that just seemed more logical at the time! Maybe I’ll own a VW some day in the future… Here was the one I had for a mear 24 hours of true driving, hell not even that – ha!

Then, on December 20th 2006 I traded in my Grand Am for this 2005 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe – Loved it! I’m still sad I got rid of this one too. It was really small though in the interior, not for me… but for Chris, and he was always so uncomfortable and the backseat was useless, and I was joining a carpool – Sooooo, it had to go…I traded it in, in March 08. It’s hard to find these R/T’s now – usually they are just the plain SXT’s… I miss me some sporty Stratus R/T!

Thennnn once I decided to get rid of the last car because of reasons I don’t know… stupid mistake, but… I wanted a G6 for a long time, and in March 2008 at age 22, I bought this car… do a notice a little trend? I’m kind of sad… because usually this isn’t like me. The Taurus SHO is the top of the line of a SHO, it’s the biggest and the best and fastest of the Taurus… and the Grand Am was a GT, which isn’t the biggest and best, because that’s a GTP, but a GT is still more special than just a regular old plain SE…and the Stratus I had was an R/T, not an SXT – it had the R/T engine, etc…and thennnnn I wanted to get a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT, but… I just so happened to see one at a dealer that wasn’t a GT but it had a sunroof – and I’d much rather get a car that had a sunroof rather than not, because all my vehicles had sunroofs and that is one thing I refuse to go without… so, in April 08, I buckled down and bought this and it’s just an SE… but, it doesn’t look too far off from a GT, just the wheels and not many keep the stock ones anyways! But, here it is…

And, eventually I’d love to buy another SHO, which the 2010′s look like….

I’d also love to have someday…
Pontiac G8

…hell, I want everything. I’d get a new car every 6 months if I could.
That is all, I’m just bored and thought I’d search back to my past cars…
Do you have any staples that you absolutely MUST have in your new cars? I do…
*Moonroof
*I’d like it to be a high level of the car – like for Pontiac it’s a GT and up, and Chevrolet it’s an LT and up and Dodge it’s an R/T and Ford it is, well good question…
*Rims – NO HUBCAPS!! Gah! No freaking way – I’m NOT going to be driving around with a hubcap missing
*Steering wheel radio controls (my car doesn’t have them now, and ugh – I miss them)
*Leather I don’t care – I had it in 3 of my cars, it doesn’t matter to me – I like it both ways.
*The normal power locks, windows, seat(s), etc.
*If I get a Ford in the future, I want the code on the door – I had that with my SHO and loved it, it was so nice.
*My car colors are either white, silver, black, charcoal grey, bright red, or bright blue… not brown or tan (with the exception of my Stratus, ha!)
I’m picky, I know – and I get a lot of crap for what I want and what little things are important to me, but damnit – if I am going to spend thousands of dollars on something I’m going to have for a few years, I want what I want and I’ll find it and not settle for less.
See, I told you I’m a car nut – just the stupid stuff too, kind of… what about you? Colors? Accessories?
What did you drive? What do you NEED to have in a car or vehicle?
**Edit: All pictures are taken off of Photobucket or online – and they are not my property, except for the Grand Am, G6 and Dodge Stratus pictures… all others belong to someone else. However, all of my previous vehicles look like the ones shown…

I absolutely love how your last photo of your car has Snap Fitness in it… nice!
My 1st car was a 1991 Ford Taurus that I paid $700 in 2000. It had power windows and only 2 worked (driver front, passenger back) and the tranny went out on it 3 times. LOL it lived until 2002.
Then I went 5 years without a car (not including my husbands cars).
My 2nd car was a 2007 Kia Rio that I got new in 2007. It has manual door locks, windows and no cruise. BASIC. It gets me places and thats about it. Oh it DOES have a CD player.
My only requirement in my car is that it be clean, and maybe CD player is a must.
I am NOT a car person. at. all.
Savannah! Totally!! Haha, Snap

Mary Jo – haha, yeah, our Taurus was the same way!! Manual doors and windows – I give you credit!! And, yes – clean – you are right!
I admire the way you are though and that you do not need to have the power stuff, etc like me – makes me look like a greedy bitch! lol
